Children's Sermons
When Reggie and I expanded our visits to health care facilities to include the children of Greenfield Christian Church, we assumed there were resources available to support such a ministry. We discovered that while there are resources for a children's ministry, they do not include the use of a therapy dog. We wanted to use Reggie to capture attention, to illustrate Bible truths and to serve as a trigger for recall in the children. To accomplish this we had to develop our own material. This is what we share on this web site. These messages or stories are written out, but they are not stories to be read. They are instead interactive discussions, with activities involving the dog and children. You are welcome to use these ideas and concepts; but we urge you to use them as springboards to develop a unique program for you, your dog and your audience.
The children’s sermons are five to eight minutes in length. In our church the children are invited down to the front of the sanctuary early in the regular worship service. These children may include toddlers through elementary school.
